We only handle Workplace Sexual Harassment and Workplace Racial Harassment involving racial slurs, racial jokes, or offensive racial symbols

Workplace sexual harassment may include pressure for nude photos, unwanted touching, sending sexual selfies, unwanted sexual comments, repeated requests for dates or sex, or conditioning shifts and other job opportunities on sexual cooperation. It can affect women or men, and the harasser and victim need not be of different sexes. The conduct can occur in an office, restaurant, factory, hospital, construction site, shipyard, or inside a long-haul truck. Often our clients are receiving psychological care. For some sexual harassment triggers memories of prior abuse. That should not stop you from obtaining a free, confidential legal consult.

Diane Sawyer did a piece for ABC’s 20/20, where she reported on our litigation for female CRST truck drivers, who alleged sexual assaults, vulgar sexual speech, sexual propositions, and inadequate company responses to complaints. An ABC affiliate covered a $4.5 million court ordered class settlement against BAE Norfolk Shipyard where our clients complained of demands for sex in return for promotion, vulgar sexual speech and every sort of offensive sexual conduct imaginable. Mr. Friedman was interviewed. The NY Post and numerous local papers across the country have covered many of our sexual harassment cases. In one, a manager demanded nude pictures in return for work. Demands for Snapchat photos is extremely common in our cases. We obtained a $910,000 verdict for a male former Sherriff’s Deputy, who was touched and pinched inappropriately by a much smaller female coworker. She referred to him as one of her “boys.”

Racial harassment may involve slurs, racial “jokes,” degrading stereotypes, threats, or symbols such as nooses, swastikas, Ku Klux Klan imagery, and Confederate flags. Daily Press coverage of our Newport News Industrial case described nooses, slavery references, “plantation” comments, racial epithets, and a racist song and video. Black workers at Lyon Shipyard alleged frequent slurs like monkeys, eight noose incidents, swastikas, KKK imagery, Confederate flags, and threats. Illinois Public Media reported that Black University of Illinois employees alleged nooses, swastikas, KKK garb, racist graffiti, Confederate flags, and repeated racial slurs. One case on behalf of 60 African American workers alleged constant racial slurs and other abuse.

If you are a person of color or have one in your immediate family, and you were targeted with or exposed to racial slurs, racial jokes, or racist images like confederate flags or KKK, please contact us for a free confidential consultation.

We look for cases where evidence like texts or screenshots establish that the sexual harassment or racial harassment took place, the employer knew, but failed to stop it. Media coverage shows the kinds of workplace conduct our firm has confronted for employees in many different industries.
